Starting a farmer..
If I were to create a new character specifically for farming, what primary/secondary would be best in your opinion?
I only have factions and prophecy, and I'm a little poor right now to get Nightfall/EotN, so it would be awesome if you could keep suggestions to only skills/locations from those games. I have a little experience with farming as a trap ranger doing 2-4 man ranger UW/FoW runs and as an SS necro with a 55 monk tank, but that was a long time ago.
Sorry if you get this question often, I tried looking around, but I'm having trouble finding anything current or with just factions/proph.
Thanks!

Assassin/Elementalist or /Mesmer can farm alot of things
But such a thing as best overall i dont think exists, evey farm is different and has a profession that can take fully advantage of the current situation better.
Though it is true that some professions have a wider range of possible things to farm. in that case, if your looking for the most advantageous classes I would recommend
A/E - A/Me - Shadowform allows to go many places cant or not as quickly and effectively
E/Me - Just good
Rt/Mo - 330 Rit is powerful

Just to add:
A/E perma Shadowform. Can't be done without Nightfall.
A/ME perma Shadowform. Not sure, I heard this doesn't work anymore after the SF nerf
E/Me Mantra of Earth & Stone Striker. Can't be done without Nightfall.
E/Mo Obsidian Flesh tank. I don't think you can keep up Obsidian without GoS from EoTN
Rt/Mo You should be able to pull this one off with Prof and Factions only.
With that said there are still several farm builds you can work with for all professions using only 2 campaigns. You will just have to be a little more creative when choosing skill you can't get. It also depends on what you plan to farm. Your best bet is to check:
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Category:G...farming_builds
You will have to modify several of these since you don't have all the skills but it's a place to start.

55 monk... an oldie but goody.
Whatever you decide... be sure to hang on to your starter armor. And if you don't, remember a year from now that I told you so.

I did, guess I phrased my request wrong.
I guess what I meant was, using only factions and prophecies, what would you recommend as to the most efficient build/easiest to use using only those skills.
I'll try the 55 monk or Rt/Mo as they seem to be the only ones that would work.
Thanks.

Ok, unfortunately you got some problems, A/E and A/Me both use Glyph of Swiftness, an EotN skill.. same with most 55 monks; they use Shield of Absorption. Now tbh I'm not very experienced with rit or ele at this point, but I would suggest getting NF/EotN if you really want to farm.

Id say easier rather than better - prophs has had 55 monks with just prophs and factions skills , having nf and eotn improves the skill choice you have at your disposal which then makes farming easier.
Im too used to having all campaigns so offhand i cant say if it would work but as monk you can always go 600/smite and farm a lot of places in prophs and factions ( knowing my luck 600/smite uses skills from all 3 )

Too bad it still will not help this guy because you must have NF to get [deadly paradox]
Both builds need this to work. But thanks for this info, I may actually play around with the A/Me version this weekend farming for clovers.

330 Rit still works fine with only prophecies and factions. the original build can be found on Wiki, but I will post it here with 1 skill change due to you not having nightfall. just shows that this build still works perfectly fine. I encourage you to check the original thread about it on Guru or at least the Wiki page, both will give you a lot of information about this build and on farming(with it) in general.
[build prof=Ritualist/Monk RestorationMagic=12+3+1 ProtectionPrayers=10 SmitingPrayers=8 SpawningPower=2+3][Vengeful Was Khanhei][Vengeful Weapon][Protective Spirit][Spirit Bond][Symbol of Wrath][Retribution][Essence Bond][Balthazar's Spirit][/build]

Nothing's wrong with good ole's 55/SS UW, actually. UW Trappers are out of style but some of the old builds work just fine.
Alternately, your 330/600 Rits/Monks are great if you have someone in your guild that can Smite for you.
